DCat has fleas. She's been treated with frontline monthly and has a flea collar, is an indoor cat too so absolutely no idea where she got them from. The house is infested too despite having blitzed the place with the spray recommended from pets at home and then again with indorex on Sunday.

Just called the councils pest control who are coming out in the next couple of days now to treat the house. Does anyone know how I can kill the fleas on poor DCat and if I will need to find somewhere else to stay for the night while pest control treat the place? I'm currently 7 months pregnant.

Thanks

Frontline is shite
Get some advocate or something from the vet
Indorex for the house every 6 months. Its cheaper on amaxon than in the vets/pets at home

Have youchecked that you can have the cat I'm the house after it's been treated by the council?

We had ours sprayed when we first moved in, and dcat had to stay with family for a couple of days.

I'll look into stuff from the vet, they were the ones who initially recommended bob martin though.

I'm not spraying the place again myself, leaving it to the pest control people so they're properly killed this time. Just need to know if I have to find somewhere else to stay for the night once they've treated the flat.

Try Advantage or Advocate, most fleas have developed a tolerance to Frontline. You won't be able to flea DCat for a few weeks so you don't overload her with insecticides.

Polter · 15/08/2017 16:16

If your vet is recommending Bob Martin products you need to change vet.

I use Advantage which you can buy online without a prescription, or Advocate from the vet. Indorex is excellent.

Your cat could have the Program injection which will stop the lifecycle.

I also agree about changing vets! Advocate or Stronghold work both only available on prescription.
