Do cats get warts?

I have noticed my long haired cat has a smooth growth on her side, it kind of looks like a large nipple, slightly smaller than a tic tac.
I don't think its sore as she will easily let me touch it, Im very hopeful it's something harmless, could it be a wart?

It's not a tick is it?

Sounds like a tick to me too. You can buy a little tool to remove them. Don't just pull it off as the mouth parts can break off and the stomach contents squeeze back into the cat.

Ah, thanks. I didn't even think of that as I always thought ticks were black but after looking at pictures online I think it could be. I'll have a look for a removal tool

OP one of my boys is a little 'warty' and he has one the size of a small nipple too (he's got 3 that I've found). I asked the vet about one beside his claw which was long and thin (4mm) and her advice was "if it's not bothering him, leave it alone". The little scruff bag also had a tick, you'll see it get bigger if it is - please don't try and remove his wart!!

Forgot to say that he's long haired too Smile

If you push it gently to one side, you'll be able to see the head and legs if it's a tick ( shudder).
