WTF is in cat soup?

Is it like kitty crack or something? Our two go mental for it when we buy it for a treat. They're not usually big wet food eaters as they prefer the complete dry food, but when we get this it's scoffed within seconds!

Don't know. Mine look at me like I am trying to poison them. Don't blame them looks vile.

Sparklingbrook · 10/08/2017 16:11

Sparklingcat loves it. But there's hardly anything in those pouches and they are a million quid a pack. Angry

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 10/08/2017 16:11

Really? my fussy old bugger (cat not dh) just looked at me like "puny human, wtaf is that?"

Sparklingbrook · 10/08/2017 16:17

Sparklingcat looks like that when I deliver dry food to the bowl. Grin

BabychamSocialist · 10/08/2017 17:19

Sparklingbrook

DS2 found that Asda do their own version - 4 for a quid and SocialistCats seem to quite like it! It's still ridiculously expensive but as a treat it's not bad.

Thanks, will have a look for that, see if it passes the test. Grin

LoyaltyAndLobster · 10/08/2017 17:26

So glad that I have come across this thread we've not long started giving ours Purina Crystal Soup, I have never ever seen him eat so quickly and not only that he meows for more, I bought it to give him as a treat once a day, but now he is having it three -four times a day as he won't touch his usual felix food.

BIWI · 10/08/2017 17:27

I think it's liquid Dreamies. AKA cat cocaine.

BabychamSocialist · 10/08/2017 20:12

Oh don't get me started on Dreamies. SocialistCats are mad for them. I'm pretty sure I'd find them shooting them up in the toilet if I left them to it! Grin

AND the fuckers can tell the difference between the real stuff and the cheaper own-brand equivalent! Arseholes.

Weedsnseeds1 · 10/08/2017 20:17

There is now a new form if Dreamies available. Moist ones called Deli-Catz. Trialed tonight and demolished!

SocialistCats are quite fond of these. They don't last long when we get them. DP says he'd probably eat them himself...

OP posts:
Weedsnseeds1 · 10/08/2017 20:55

I'll have to try them! He's partial to Lidl cat Salami too.

Angeldt · 10/08/2017 21:05

It's a no from Molly. However, Dreamies are quite acceptable !

Angel - Molly is gorgeous! What breed is she?

buggerthebotox · 11/08/2017 03:41

Seconding Molly's gorgeousness.

Bought cat soup by accident. Buggercat demolished it in seconds, and he's a right fussy soandso.

Angeldt · 11/08/2017 06:28

Happytobefree17 and buggerthebotox Thanks for admiring Molly. She's just a moggie. She is a rescue cat, her mum found pregnant and living in a hedge and barely a kitten herself. Our vet thinks dad was probably a British blue though. We've had her from a kitten and she rules the roost ( as cats do )

BabychamSocialist · 11/08/2017 10:40

Angeldt

SocialistCat1 is the same. He's a lovely silver tabby and people think he's a pedigree, but he was a rescue found living on a retail park. Had awful trouble with fleas before we got him but he's become lovely. With the help of SocialistCat2 and 3 they're in charge and the dogs have been beat into submission!

What's in cat soup? Bugger all but a dribble of broth and a few flakes of tuna and an anchovy! Mine love the Gourmet one, but the Encore soup is apparently unacceptable. to their little cat noses.

Molly looks like one of mine from yonks ago, I love grey cats. He was also a moggy and used to fan his tail from the base like a peacock to encourage admiring glances.

3catsandcounting · 11/08/2017 12:30

#2 cat (boy) craves dry food, but doesn't drink enough so gets cystitis. To avoid a "complete biscuit ban" which the other two think is mightily unfair, I've tried introducing the soup. They all like it, but it is pricey.
(DH gives #2 some biscuits and chucks half a cup of water over them. #2 cat is appalled.

3catsandcounting · 11/08/2017 12:33

#2 cat looking hopeful for biscuits!

HipsterHunter · 11/08/2017 14:53

100% cat drugs in the cat soup, mine loves it

buggerthebotox · 11/08/2017 18:24

Maybe it's the moisture they like. And anchovies are quite moreish in an umami kind of way.

Angelpussy does look like a blue to my uneducated eyes.

pilates · 11/08/2017 19:07

Mines loves it too

BabychamSocialist · 11/08/2017 19:38

I blame DP for ours loving it. He bought some when SocialistCat1 had his balls chopped off, so I think they're accustomed to it now! Gits

RubbishMantra · 13/08/2017 16:58

That's a very focussed hopeful-for-biscuits face. Almost verging on demented Grin
