Kitten newbie! How to prepare?

Hi, we are finally getting our new little ragdoll kitten next week (she'll be 12-13 weeks), and as a kitten newbie, what do you advice are the basics I should be preparing / thinking of / avoiding? We've been given a list of basics but I wondered what people would recommend I should keep in mind for the first days?

Go round your house identifying (and possibly filling) any small gaps they might like to hide in. They can be surprisingly small. Kittens often like to find somewhere small and dark at first as they are scared so provide safe ones for them with small boxes to avoid having them stuck behinde the oven, microwave, boiler etc.

Be aware of the strange things that are highly toxic to cats such as lillies.

Get ready to fall in love.

Thanks wings! Great tip I've already identified a big gap / set of holes in kitchen! Need to plan how to address those.

I'll post picture next week when we have the kitten!!

Food/biscuit/water bowls
Food
Cat bed
Scratch pole
Litter and scoop
Litter tray
Litter tray liners (easier when it comes to emptying)
Don't be surprised if she hides for the first few days and doesn't want to come out
You might have to 'ignore' her and just let
her hear you talking and doing normal stuff in the room she is in.
She may get diarrhoea for a while. Don't be alarmed.
Don't open windows too wide, so she can't escape.
Some people leave the light on and a radio on in the kitten's room for the first few nights until it has settled.
Practise your cat voice!
Enjoy!
