She is doing so well! She has picked a buddy from our clowder to snuggle with which we didn't expect, we really thought she was going to be an exclusive human cuddler. Here is the only decent photo I have with Zelda and her best friend Teddy. Teddy is a bit of a tart and rolled over while I was taking the photo, he is also huge!

We also played some videos of kittens meowing to see what she would do, nothing! We do this our Momo is mega Mummy and always goes looking for the kittens - we don't do it often) So we played a video of a Serval called Zeus, and his Savannah cat friend Hera, and Zelda sat there meowing at them, and went behind the TV looking for them, then started answering this Zeus called who was calling his Mum. Very surreal.

After sorting out the garden and waiting for the awful weather to stop, we tried encouraging her outside and she was having none of it, she just sat in the doorway waiting for me to come back in.

Loving seeing her grow and see new sides to her.

I don't understand most of your post but your new cat is lovelyGrin

HipsterHunter · 26/07/2017 12:16

Uh, the cat in the foreground is delicious and I want him! His green eyes!!!

RubbishMantra · 26/07/2017 13:20

Was she abandoned by her mum? Or come as a stray to you?

Lovely cats you have.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/07/2017 13:30

Both gorgeous cats!

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/07/2017 13:35

Is Zeus the cat with the blonde owner with the big boobs?.

sugarplumfairy28 · 26/07/2017 13:54

Rubbish she was dumped at a local farm, a neighbour of the farm owner saw it. The farm owner who is also the lady who runs our Kindergarten, looked after her for about a month but couldn't keep her, then told me about her, and we took her in. We thought that she was just a pretty tabby, but our vets have told us she in a Savannah and probably rejected by the breeder because she isn't 'perfect'.

Fluffy that's the one.

Yes, Dh used to watch her videos. I'm not entirely convinced it was the cat he was watching either Hmm

She feeds hers live mice. I stopped watching her after that.

sugarplumfairy28 · 27/07/2017 07:10

Oh no Fluffy I didn't see that, I mean I can understand it for a Serval, they after all wild cats, but I don't think it's something I could watch or feel the need to record and post for everyone to see it.

Aaaargh, they are gorgeous! A Savannah is my dream cat

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/07/2017 09:32

Little they are really hard work ime, demanding isn't the word! We're having a stand off over the new water fountain atm Hmm

Interesting as ours was a stray too. We thought he was a Bengal originally but have subsequently found out where he came from and actually he's a Savannah according to his original owner.

Happy new cat Smile

Puccini complaining it's too hotHmm

sugarplumfairy28 · 27/07/2017 12:06

Ha, Zelda isn't a fan of the heat either, and is incredibly demanding. She's turned into my shadow, latest trend is she keeps trying to sit on the back of the toilet seat as I sit down, fortunately I haven't managed to knock her in yet.

It is illegal to feed live vertebrates (obviously including mice) to another animal.

sugarplumfairy28 · 27/07/2017 14:03

I'm pretty sure that Zeus the Serval is in America, where at least for snakes, it is not illegal to feed live prey. Servals are also still classified as wild animals, so I'm not sure if that would also have an impact on the legality of feeding live prey.

She's in the states.

Littlemissindependent · 27/07/2017 15:27

Oh my goodness Dame that is the most beautiful cat I've ever seen

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/07/2017 16:19

Not bad for the flea ridden, half starved kitty he once was,is he? Wink

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/07/2017 16:26

OP, oh yes the toilet seat trick HmmGrin

RubbishMantra · 27/07/2017 17:48

I didn't know Puccini turned out to be a Savannah! Was he dumped by his original owners like Zelda?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/07/2017 21:59

He moved out as he was unhappy! Long story but we accidentally met his original neglectful owner who was relieved we were happy to have him.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 27/07/2017 22:00

We thought he was a Bengal or a Mau at first.

How can people dump beautiful cats like Zelda ? 😞

sugarplumfairy28 · 28/07/2017 08:33

Absolutely beyond me! The whole thing gives me very mixed feelings. Obviously we totally adore her and are very pleased to have her, but in order to bring us that happiness she has had to endure pain, stress, and god knows what else and I feel bad about it.

This what bothers me about breeders, they see animals as assets and a means to making money, and like how an office based company would discard a printer, you get breeders who discard animals. The worst part is, you don't that they're 'that' kind of breeder until its too late.
