Moved house - helping cat learn to use litter tray

Hi all.
We moved this week with our two cats. Normally they are free to go outside but obviously we are keeping them in at the moment. One is absolutely fine with this, seems chilled out, happy to use the litter tray. The other is staging a dirty protest and using our hall as a litter tray. We have 3 litter trays for 2 cats and spread in different places but he just won't do it!

So - how long do I have to keep him inside for? Any other tips to persuade him to use the tray? Interestingly at the cattery while we were moving he and other cat happily shared a tray and no toilet action elsewhere in the pen so he's clearly capable of doing so....

Gently rub his front paws in the clean litter - show him its somewhere nice to dig!

If that fails try a different type of litter. Mine use www.petconnection.ie/product/trixie-fresh-n-easy-silicate-litter - and they actually use it.

Perfect having an extra litter tray, we have 14 cats and 15 trays Blush

If he's going in one spot every time he fouls outside of the tray, clean it with Biological washing powder and water to remove the scent. Or I find Fourpaws Wee Wee Remover very good.

I find both Feliway and Pet Remedy very good for stressed cats, some respond better to one than the other.
