Buying medication online

My old cat is on medication (Vidalta) for hyperthyroidism. She's not insured and it's costing me roughly £60 per month to get her tablets from the vet. I've had a quick look online and can get them way cheaper, but I'm wondering how reliable these websites are?
Does anyone have experience of purchasing medication online, and any website recommendations?
Thanks in advance. Smile

You will need a prescription from our vet which they will charge for. We get insulin from animeddirect.co.uk (which our vet recommended along with petdrugsonline). There is another one called viovet which I get syringes from but vet didn't mention.
One of the nurses told me the vets can't buy in the medication as cheaply as it costs online which is a shame as I'd prefer to buy from them but the difference in price is huge.

Your vet not our vet!

Many thanks for you're reply.
I have spoken briefly to the vet about buying online and a prescription was mentioned and that I would need to pay for it, which is fine.
I know what you mean about buying from vet versus website. I somehow feel guilty not getting from vet, but as you say, the pricing can vary a lot.
My cat is due a check up again in 2 months, so will discuss then with my vet. I'll check out those websites you suggested in the meantime.
Thank you

I use animeddirect.co.uk to buy Synoquin for my cat's joints, and have have never had a problem with them.
