A rat a day...

For the last few days I've been presented with a dead juvenile rat, left by the back door. MCat used to be a prolific hunter, but hasn't really bothered the last couple of years. Between him and Little M there's been a couple of mice and a live frog.

Am wondering if MCat's found a rat colony, and is this colony in my (tiny) courtyard!? Shock Why are they left outside, and not eaten, like the mice he caught in the past? Maybe rats taste horrible? (Not that I want him bringing them inside or eating them)

Well if there is a colony then it is being depleted.

My old cat used to eat quite a bit of the rat but leave the head tail and guts

These ones, you can't see a mark on them, just a bit dusty from being played with.

I wonder if it is the weather... they're all daytime gifts - I don't let the boys out after dark.
