cover for induction hob

Has anyone bought a cover for an induction hob? We have just bought a flat that has an induction hob in a very small kitchen. There's little worktop space, so everyone dumps shopping on the hob....even though I say 'please don't!' I just know it's going to get damaged.

I am also very interested to know this as same thing happened to me!

I went to Peter Jones kitchen department and spoke to a very helpful woman who told me they don't supply covers for induction hobs but are aware that some customers would like one.
I then found a company on line that supplies covers . It only gave a mobile number. No address or landline number. But their product sounded ideal. I emailed them to say that I was interested but didn't want to buy on line from a company that did not give me an address. That was a week ago. I have heard nothing!
I'm still looking.

Do you want a cover just to protect the top ? I have a silicon round heat mat thing from Le Cruset that I now use as a cover for individual rings as the cat likes to get on there and I didnt want him on the warm hob

Maybe you could get a big silicon or rubber mat. They should be quite strong but we have managed to chip our with a glass worktop saver sliding into it
