Anyone come across non-regenative anaemia?

This is what my adult cat has been diagnosed with, we are told the outcome is unlikely to be good.

Her iron is low, red bloods cells, no immature red blood cells at all meaning her bone marrow isn't making them, high white cell count, low protein, low electrolytes. Kidney and liver function is normal, FIV and FELV are negative.

She's being treated with antibiotics but the vet dosnt feel it will be successful as she feels something major is going on but we havnt yet found what. Anyone experienced this before?

No, it sounds awful for you all though.

When will the vet know for sure?.

CatchingBabies · 25/06/2017 17:32

She's home now but very poorly. The vet has suggested letting her go and she's home to say goodbye really. She's back in the morning when we have to decide what to do. The vet thinks she has an aggressive bone marrow cancer as she isn't responding to antibiotics at all. It seems we are now out of options tomorrow. Getting a second opinion tomorrow before making a very hard decisison.

Thats terrible, is it a cancer specialist you're seeing tomorrow?

CatchingBabies · 25/06/2017 18:10

No it's not. She's not been confirmed as having cancer it's just the vets guess. She is showing all the signs of having FELV except its negative so the vet is at a loss really and can only assume it's cancer. We will be asking questions about referrals etc. tomorrow.
