Cat proof flooring

OK, OK maybe this is mission impossible. But is it possible to find flooring that doesn't get clawed to buggery? I hate, hate hate laminate. What about engineered wood? Flatweave sisal?

Engineered wood or real tiles, I should think. My friends have big clawful dogs on tiles and engineered wood. They researched every flooring going before they chose.

Engineered wood sounds good ragged. Any particular treatment needed?

Cats would be in heaven I reckon, if you put in sisal, they'd find sharpening their claws on it irresistible.

What about solid wood? If it does get scratched, you can re-polish it or sand it down to get rid of marks.

I've put polished porcelain down.
