Hi all, some of you may recognise me as the slave of Cookie and Biscuit. For those unfamiliar with me, I've included a picture.

I've always been a rescue cat person, but must admit I'm tempted by a stocky blue British Shorthair.

It'd probably be next year or later, but just wondering if anyone could comment on the breed?

I'm also feeling guilty because I've always had rescues. Opinions would be welcome. I'd delighted adopt a rescued stud or queen, but can't seem to find them in Ireland.

We have a BSH Bengal cross and he's a nightmare but we love him to bits (most of the time). He's a big cat in a small body, never stops talking and adores our dog. He thinks everyone should get up at 3am so we have to shut him out of the bedrooms now, and yes to the obsession with catching toes under the duvet. Eats like he's starving. Hunts like a professional and likes to bring a live bird or mouse in to play with but tends to let them go in the house as obviously the catching is the fun bit. He moults huge amounts of fluffy undercoat but loathes being brushed. Has a low affection tolerance unless he's instigated it and we all have arms covered in scars from when he's decided that's enough.

He's definitely not the cuddly cat we envisaged but he's a real character and I can't imagine not having him now.

I had a British Blue, snuggliest cat I've ever had.

I have 2 3 month old bsh boys, they are both be very talkative and snugly but the bigger boy (they're from the same litter) is getting a bit more aloof - he sits on my leg...

They are just gorgeous, I am smitten.
