Help me name my cat?

KitBee · 18/06/2017 23:33

Feels strange calling him 'my cat'.

We found him stuck under a thorn bush matted and sore. He's been with us for 4 weeks now, no owner found and no ID tag/chip. We have searched everywhere for an owner.

Looks like he's here to stay Grin

Any name suggestions?

That's a very coquettish pose Grin.

Do you like human names for cats, or a more traditional 'animal' name?

KitBee · 18/06/2017 23:38

I like human names Margot Grin

Phillip or Gavin or Keith

MargotLovedTom1 · 18/06/2017 23:39

I could see him with an old man's name like Ronnie or Bertie. He's really sweet and looks very settled in.

HowFunkyisyourChicken · 18/06/2017 23:40

Or Claudius Claude for short?

MissTakesOurMaid · 18/06/2017 23:41

Bert
Oliver
Ernest/Ernie
Bruce

MrsDanversKnickers · 18/06/2017 23:41

Bertie
Oswald
Charlie
Thomas
Arlo

KitBee · 18/06/2017 23:41

He has really big paws compared to the rest of him!

Also really likes my springer spaniel puppy and tries sleeping next to her.

They make a fab pair although she's too skittish and he often gets fed up and walks away Grin

Love Arlo x

Thor. As in thorn bush.

TheSpottedZebra · 18/06/2017 23:43

He is really really lovely btw.

pieceofpurplesky · 18/06/2017 23:43

He is a Sebastian or Seba for short

MargotLovedTom1 · 18/06/2017 23:43

Ahhhh. Well if it's not too outing you could post her name then we could suggest names that go together Grin.

MargotLovedTom1 · 18/06/2017 23:44

OK if you like Arlo, then there's also Milo, or Linus?

TheSpottedZebra · 18/06/2017 23:44

Sticking with the (sort of) thorn theme:

Briar.
... Richard
Brian
Skelf

KitBee · 18/06/2017 23:45

Oh he definitely suits Sebastian!

My girl's name is Ottilie x

OP posts:
MargotLovedTom1 · 18/06/2017 23:47

I did think of suggesting George (Bush) but then thought it might not be ideal to associate his name with his sad, thorny spell Sad.

MargotLovedTom1 · 18/06/2017 23:48

Oliver & Ottilie?

MargotLovedTom1 · 18/06/2017 23:50

Oscar.

LostPlatypus · 18/06/2017 23:54

Oh bless him! I think he is definitely your cat now! He is adorable by the way. I don't know if it helps but I've always named cats by calling various names at them and seeing which they answer to. I was going to suggest Henry but I'm not sure that fits with the names you like. Hope you find a name for him soon anyway.

TheCatOfAthenry · 18/06/2017 23:59

He looks a bit like my Cookie.

Could he be a Norbert?

marmitecrumpets · 19/06/2017 00:00

Yes I agree with PP - George as in George Bush

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 19/06/2017 00:09

Love his paws. He looks like a Roger to me.

pieceofpurplesky · 19/06/2017 23:29

Sebastian and Ottile -
Perfect
