In a flat. The new one has been with me, its been 8 days in my room and she's bee. Introduced to the year old and the hissing has stopped. They are getting there. I was up at 6am for work but at 5am I heard banging about in the living room and noticed that my bedroom door was wide open the big one has broke her out. She was under the sofa and I managed to
Entice her out and lock her back in with me. So what's next I'm off work tomorrow and have a new washing machine coming afterbits been fitted I need to do some kitten proofing don't I? There is a door to get out my flat and beyond that a catflap to outside which is shut so no one can exit only come in.

My first was a dream never chewed anything or climbed the curtains even now doesn't jump on surfaces. The new one however is a tortie..... are they trouble?

I put bubble wrap around some wires to avoid Biscuit chewing them. A tiny nail trim will stop any major curtain damage. Keep easily knocked items off her surfaces...

Not sure what else really. Someone else might be along to help. Any new Dolly pics?

Yes Grin. My tortie is extremely naughty, and the vet pretty much said its in their nature when I mentioned it to her at the vaccination appointment.

I didn't kitten proof apart from trying not to leave food on the worktop. To start with they were confined to just the kitchen/diner at night but now they have the run of the place (except for bathrooms)

Yes I think I need to clear some books off the shelf. Daph has never climbed on it but I have a feeling she might. I need some floating shelves really I'm more concious of being in a flat now and I want some high spaces for two of them. There's nothing I can do about her getting down the back of the telly is there? Is a small litter tray in the living room under the Christmas tree table gross? They say plus one don't they? I just don't want her feeling trapped anywhere and needing to go.

We did block off the back of the couch and moved the tv unit out a bit so they could get all the way round rather than get stuck. We have a xxl litter tray in the kitchen as when we had 2 trays they just used the same one anyway. We have a big cat tree/scratching post thing for them too

i foster kittens and my plans include
making sure they cant get behind the fridge freezer or washing machine
blocking access with cardboard
make sure wires are not acessible as like children they do tend to try eating them
making sure theres no bits of plastic or paper small enough to go in mouths lying around, this is very important , one of my grandchildren had left a corner of a sweet packet on the floor,
one of my fosters swallowed it and if it had gone down the other way it would have killed her, luckily i realised something was wrong with her breathing straight to vets and plastic removed
dont leave any dirty dishes with food in that arent good for kittens like curry or chilli cos they will lick the contents, then you get the runny other end
make sure that any toys are kitten proof, no loose strings or bits of stuffing hanging out
basically think what would a human toddler of around 12-18 months get up to and you have the equivelent in a kitten
