My cat is stuck on the roof!!!

And it's not even my house!!!

Ugh.

He's protesting because I found a cute kitten and they've met but he isn't happy... He jumped onto the fence, on to the shed roof, on to my roof and then across all the other houses. We live in a detached house so he must have lept across.

Now he's crying and pretending he's stuck.

Decided he hates Dreamies too. This is a complete lie

He's Dennis by name, menace by nature!!!!

Seriously though, what do I do?!

Ignore him he'll come down when he's ready.

Toddlerteaplease · 04/06/2017 22:55

He should be able to get down in stages by the look of the house(if he's clever enough to figure it out) . My parents almost had a heart attack when they saw their cat strolling along the roof of a bungalow opposite. Leave him to come down of his own accord overnight and if genuinely stuck contact a tree surgeon! They will have ladders.

Want2beme · 04/06/2017 23:31

Is it Mildred who's causing all the trouble? Dennis will get down the way he got up. He's clever.

Botanicbaby · 04/06/2017 23:34

I can't tell you how many times I have made a fool of myself trying to 'rescue' various cats over the years from the roofs of farm buildings...with dreamies in hand.

They always look trapped to the poor unsuspecting human but they can almost, always, manage to get down.

If he really can't, you'll know about it and then is the time to call in for help. Hope he is home safely soon.

GlitteryFluff · 04/06/2017 23:38

Oh bless little Dennis
Hope he remembers the way down soon!

furlinedsheepskinjacket · 04/06/2017 23:38

yy he'll sort it himself

mine used to do this a lot - nobbers

Orlandointhewilderness · 04/06/2017 23:52

Well clearly you are a neglectful owner. You should've lowered the roof by now.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 05/06/2017 07:33

Did he come down?

I remember a time when LandingCat got stuck up in a tree when a dog scared him. He cried for ages and wouldn't be coaxed down, so, slightly mortified, I called the SSPCA who advised ringing the fire brigade. A few minutes later, the rain came on and he suddenly figured it out. When I called SSPCA back they laughed and said if the fire service had come out they'd have used water to get him down too (safer for the firefighters than manhandling a stressed cat while on a ladder) so if he's ever stuck again, try spraying some water up at him!

MollyHuaCha · 05/06/2017 07:34

How is Dennis?

NickMyLipple · 05/06/2017 08:03

Ah, water! Great idea!! I'll use that next time.

Dennis is fine. DP stood on a chair in the neighbours drive and grabbed him.

Not sure what to do about Mildred. Is she the reason Dennis is being a little shit terror?

I'm in a bungalow, mine is regularly found on the roof, she pretends she can't get down too.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 05/06/2017 09:01

Poor Dennis. First he is usurped by Mildred and instead of sympathy now people are plotting to hose him off. He's really not having a good time lately!

Want2beme · 05/06/2017 09:42

How are Dennis and Mildred this morning? I wouldn't imagine that Mildred has endeared herself to DH?

isadorable · 05/06/2017 09:52

Give Dennis time. Has he actually met Mildred yet?

NickMyLipple · 05/06/2017 10:39

She is the cutest thing, and settling well. Dennis is cranky.
DP is pissed off with Dennis following his escapade but it's made him question if it's all Mildred's fault!!

Poor Dennis!

Does Feliway work in these circumstances?

Wolfiefan · 05/06/2017 13:07

One of mine claims fairly regularly that she's stuck on the garage roof and the bit that goes across the front porch. She bloody isn't. Not at all. But since I caved once she now expects me to open the landing window, lean out and risk life, limb and scratching to lift her to safety.

NickMyLipple · 05/06/2017 13:26

I'm going to order some feliway but it's so expensive!

@Wolfiefan you made me snort out loud 😂😂😂

Next time Dennis does it, I'm locking him out. I don't think I could bring myself to do that

TheCatOfAthenry · 05/06/2017 13:46

@NickMyLipple drop me a pm - I have spare feliway free to a good home!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 05/06/2017 14:37

I don't have any spare feliway ... but I have plenty of spare cuddles and I'd like to donate some to poor oppressed Dennis.

NickMyLipple · 05/06/2017 16:50

Aww Spartacus - I'm sure he will be so grateful. He loves cuddles.
