Had to have my male cat James 15 put to sleep tonight
He had bladder cancer and dementia
I've shed more than a few tears on DS and am now having a few drinks
Rest of family and some friends don't understand as they're not cat lovers
I'm just about to go on holiday and I just can't raise an ounce of enthusiasm

Sad day today

He's adorable. So sorry for your loss. We all understand your sadness. Take care and go on your hols. A change of scenery will do you the world of good. He'll always be with you, wherever you are.

Vinorosso74 · 02/06/2017 21:57

Aw, I'm so sorry, he looks a lovely boy (I have a soft spot for B&W cats).Cats are part of the family so it's perfectly normal to be upset.
Have a few drinks in his memory and look after yourself Wine and Flowers for you.

Oldraver · 02/06/2017 21:59

Thank you your messages they mean a lot
He was a handsome gentleman and kept himself dapper to the end
Evie (younger tabby sister) is looking rather lost tonight
I suspect she will soon enjoy being centre of our attention
Will try and find a pic of them together.....

RIP beautiful kitty. Flowers

TeenagersandFurbabies · 02/06/2017 23:13

So sorry for your loss. I truly understand your pain as I had to have my 17 year old ginger tabby Tiggy put to sleep following a heart attack in February, it rips a hole in your heart when you have to say goodbye to a beautiful furbaby.💐

He was beautiful. You gave him a graceful death, take comfort that saved him from suffering.

What a handsome cat. Of course it hurts - it's ok to grieve for him, he was your friend and companion for many years. Flowers hope the holiday is restorative.

mustiwearabra · 02/06/2017 23:51

I'm so sorry. People who aren't pet folk just don't get it do they.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 03/06/2017 09:29

What a beautiful boy. I'm so sorry for your loss Flowers

ifonly4 · 03/06/2017 09:37

So sorry to hear about your gorgeous James. I know it's really hard (I went through this exactly six weeks ago), so I'm sending you a hug. I think you know you did the right thing for him. He had a lovely life in a caring home, so hold onto that - in a few days you'll be able to look back on the happy memories you have.

BigcatLittlecat · 03/06/2017 09:39

What a beautiful boy. I truly believe cats know how much we love them.
Tell us your favourite story about James.

JaceLancs · 03/06/2017 18:00

Hugs to ifonly4 and teenagersandfurbies plus anyone else who has had a recent loss
It does get easier with time - I have lost many cats over the years and remember each and everyone with great fondness
James was a very cuddly cat, who used to sleep in very strange positions on occasions such as flat on back with all 4 legs in air
I have a lovely film of him and Evie playing in the sun it was like synchronised rolling in the catolympics
