Sad about selling kittens

So my little Luna gave birth to the most beautiful grey and white kittens and I'm feeling so sad about selling them. They are due to leave on the 26th and I'm due my little baby in the 25th so would be silly to keep them!
I've already taken the people's deposits as I wanted to take my time finding the right homes but still feeling so sad:(

Aw you poor thing are they going to people you know? How is your little cat?

littleblackno · 01/06/2017 17:20

I think i would only know how unreasonable you were if i could see some photos. Wink

You will have a lovely squishy baby to cuddle instead and i am sure they are going to good homes.

NorthernLurker · 01/06/2017 17:28

It's good you've got good homes for them but you will be getting your cat neutered now won't you? Needs to happen quickly as they can get pregnant very soon.

Jenna234 · 01/06/2017 18:16

Will definitely be getting her done when the kittens are fully weaned! Can't go through giving up little babies like these again and she lost the first kitten and I could see the sadness in her eyes and it was heartbreaking. Being inexperienced in cat labour I probably could have helped that first kitty live but I didn't know what to do, now know why it's so important to et them done as soon as and no reason not to as it's so cheap to do!
Just want the best for them, they are all so lovely and have such character to them!

You have a gorgeous cat and I see why you'll miss her kittens.

EachandEveryone · 01/06/2017 18:29

Oh they are gorgeous are you keeping any?

user1487175389 · 01/06/2017 18:35

Maybe you'd feel better about it if you were giving them away? I always had a cat growing up and they were each allowed a litter of kittens before being spayed. We wouldn't have dreamed of selling them - we just gave them away to good, loving homes. Sad the way everything is commodified nowadays.

NorthernLurker · 01/06/2017 18:44

They are lovely. Free kittens isn't a good idea. Somebody who wants to look after a cat properly will be prepared to pay for a kitten. People who take free kittens make me uneasy.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 01/06/2017 19:14

I agree Northern, I hate seeing 'free to a good home' ads.

Your cat and her kittens are gorgeous OP.

EachandEveryone · 01/06/2017 19:49

I saw kittens tonight for £150 which i think is alot of money. If you where in London OP id be banging your door down!

mynotsoperfectlife · 01/06/2017 19:50

They are lovely but I don't like selling kittens Hmm

MoominFlaps · 01/06/2017 19:52

I wouldn't be selling them. I'd be giving them to a rescue where they can properly vet the owners.

wonkyegg · 01/06/2017 19:57

I'd never give kittens away free. I've rescued pregnant females three times and believe me if you offer them for free you get some very dodgy people. I once had a guy call me asking for all the cats, he didn't even want to know what they looked like or what gender they were and he wanted them immediately, weeks before they wee ready. Obviously I refused. I decided to charge after that. I totally understand you being upset about giving them up, I always was.

lazycrazyhazy · 01/06/2017 20:01

That's interesting about not being free. Like a PP we gave them away (same as PP a litter each and we usually kept one from each litter!) but we always gave them to people we or the children knew. I still keep tabs on some of their descendants! Admittedly we are provincial so maybe different in a city.

mynotsoperfectlife · 01/06/2017 20:03

I wouldn't give them to people I didn't know. I rescued a pregnant cat a few years ago and I gave her kittens away to people I knew.

tabbymog · 01/06/2017 20:12

That's a fierce Mama telling you 'Go away!'. Look at her eyes. In normal light a cat's pupils wide open like that say she's a very wary and agitated cat.

So would you be if someone so much bigger than you approached you when feeding your new babies. It's a big world when you're only a foot high. Good Mama Cat. Smile

EachandEveryone · 01/06/2017 21:33

I got mine through a friend of a friend for free. That's how I thought it went until I started looking for a new one and there's adverts everywhere all £100 plus

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/06/2017 00:57

Oh bless you of course you're going to miss them. They're like, your grand children really.
Are they going to people who you know. I couldn't give them to strangers.
They're adorable, BTW.
