New cat on the block

We are thinking of getting a rescue cat, we've had a cat before who was pts three years ago. Since then our garden has become a cut through and hang out for at least four neighbouring cats. Is there a way to introduce a new cat to our household without a major cat territory war?

I wouldn't worry about a cat territory war. It will all sort itself out, probably fairly painlessly and without any great effort on your part. Just get your new cat.
