How to stop cat chewing cables

My cat likes to chew my phone charge cable. I have had to replace the cable 4 times this year. Is there anything I can smear on the cable to stop her from wanting to chew it?

No they love phone cables. Lock her out of the room.

Tabasco sauce stopped my Burmese.

That's not a great thing to do.

I found USB cables that are braided steel on the outside. Or thread through an offCut of garden hose.

My cat used to do this when he was a kitten, his favourite was the router cable. At a check up at the vets they suggested buying some drinking straws for him to play with, and if we saw him going towards a cable distract him with them. He hasn't chewed a cable since and he is 5 now.
Can't have a drink with a straw in or he will steal it but I'd take that over destroying wires and cables
