So I've cracked and pulled out the big guns

I got a puppy on Saturday and tootsie has been...less than amused.

She's not reacted as bad as she did with Blue, no swearing or growling, more puffing and running. plus the little pup is a bugger and chases poor Toots

I am now worse than dead in her eyes

So what do I do?

Time for the big guns.

I've got some zyklene and some lick-e-lix to mix it in.

Let's see if this helps her at all.

She is refusing to come in at all in the day time now, which isn't unheard of but she likes to be in if it's a bit cold like it has been today. So far I've managed to get her in at night but I have to physically go out with ham and fetch her.

So wish me luck

Oh dear. Yes, I think bribery is the way forward Grin. And let her sulk for a while just so you are fully aware of how awful you are Grin. Any chance of a photo of puppy? Smile.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 08/05/2017 18:53

Poor little love ... It must be awfully upsetting for her.

Soubriquet · 08/05/2017 19:00

Puppy photos I can provide with no problem Grin

I'm going to have the upstairs a dog free area so she has there to escape to and I hope eventually in 10 years she will forgive me

Toots must be as big as the puppy Grin - though (s)he is cute.
I think you will be apologising for at least a decade!! Hope she enjoys her lickelix!

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 08/05/2017 19:05

We had our dogs for 3 years before our cat would acknowledge them!!

Soubriquet · 08/05/2017 19:05

Toots is twice the size at least!

And her nose began to twitch as soon as she smelt it so it's gone down nicely

Someone tried to bribe my cat with preformed ham once after I specifically said he likes hand carved. He wouldn't come in for it.

Toots lives on hand carved ham from now on & you have to go to bed at 9 for special toots/mommy time Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 08/05/2017 19:18

Eek! On second thoughts I think that Toots will never recover and so in fairness you should send the puppy to me Grin.

Toots will be fine once she realises she is still Top Girl.

when i got my rescue dog from cyprus who was a large hound type dog fully grown my cats behaved like ferals for about three weeks refused to come in the house had to feed them outside on the patio, but slowly one by one they all realised it was more comfy indoors, and wander was a timid dog due to having had a horrible life in cyprus, and they realised she was a soft touch to snuggle up to, so toots will forgive you eventually

RubbishMantra · 08/05/2017 22:30

Poor ASBO, how dare they try to give him crap ham! I expect he was most offended and may murder them in their sleep. Grin

That is a very cute puppy OP. What breed? Love the ears.

And cats almost always establish themselves at the top of the pecking order with no problem. They look down on dogs.

Soubriquet · 09/05/2017 07:24

She's a chihuahua

I got toots love this morning

She climbed into bed with me and cuddled up against my stomach for half an hour before I had to get up.
