Cat with ear polyp

Hello
I have a 15 year old cat whos been diagnosed with a possible ear polyp about 2 months ago. After treatment with antibiotics and steroidal ear drops it appeared to improve but vet said it's likely to come back. It now appears to have come back so we are trying same treatment again. Is there any option to help get rid of a polyp without surgery as we obviously don't want to put a cat this age through surgery? If not we'll have to put the cat first as it's not fair to have her have Constant ear pain. We do have a vet appointment for next week booked but just want to see options

I'm not a vet, and you will have to listen to your vet's advice. Surgery isn't the end of the world though - even at 15. Vets are experienced at supporting older cats through anaesthesia and most come through it without problem.

Nowadays a large proportion of the cats who have anaesthetics are teenagers having dental, thyroidectomys etc.
We run bloods before hand to check kidneys etc. And know how important it is to keep them warm. She could have another good 5 to 7 years.
