Is it kitten season now? At least I know mine have been neutered so no baby making for them

isseywithcats · 01/05/2017 19:44

demented pixie kitten season is hotting up the rescue i volunteer and foster for currently has 150 kittens in foster at different ages from new borns to 10 week olds who are due back to the centre to look for thier new homes or go to their new homes as already on hold

dementedpixie · 01/05/2017 19:48

Omg that's a lot of kitties! Must be frustrating for you that so many people don't get their cats neutered/spayed although I imagine some are strays too

isseywithcats · 01/05/2017 20:08

a lot of the mom cats we get in are strays, probably chucked out by thier owners when the fact they didnt get thier poor cats spayed is why they got pregnant, and the nearest city to us bradford has a horrendous stray, abandoned and feral cat population ,

EachandEveryone · 01/05/2017 21:21

Oh thats so sad. There does seem to be alot more on the upnorth pages than the London ones.

OP, that's probably because the RSPCA isn't very active in London. London is more Celia Hammonds and the Mayhew and some smaller charities. The RSPCA don't seem to do anything about stray or ferals down here.

London's stray and feral problem is unbelievably bad though.

EachandEveryone · 01/05/2017 21:29

Oh i never knew rgat. Well i did ring them up about one kitten and they wouldnt entertain me for living in a first floor flat and working full time. They dont make it easy to adopt!
