How to spoil a cat

Old girl (17) is terminal, she had a bout of D&V last week so straight to vet. Well at her age you can't take risks. They did a full check up (her & vet have a bit of a thingGrin)
Anyway they found a mass on/in her liver with that and her bloods……

She doesn't have any symptoms yet but we're going to have to make that decision sooner rather than later.

We waited at least a day too long with her brother 2 years ago, cancer again, and I still feel guilty.

So far this weekend she's been allowed sleep on DPs fresh laundry Smile
Had grilled prawns
Sweet & sour chicken
Gammon
Lots of cat milk
Ice cream ( she can tolerate lactose)
Lots of grumbles out the window at the birds (she doesn't 'do' outside unless the temp is 22+) in fact other than the vet I don't think she's ever gone further than the back garden.
And is currently making my left arm go numb draping herself on it while watching Big Cats.

So what else, what could be on her bucket list?

What a lovely idea. Am so sorry to hear about sooner instead of later though Flowers My cat would love to sleep under the covers with us, curled up right next to/on our stomachs. Might your cat want to do the same?

As for her bucket list

Catnip. A really good bag of catnip. My boy loves it and we always try to buy the good stuff. Some cats get hyper and playful on it, he turns into a big lump.

A really high shelf to lie on for a while. To further her feelings of superiority.

If her appetite is still good, how about a meat platter, with a little bit of all her favourite meats.

And just as much attention as she wants.

Emmm she owns the bed

DP was going to go to bed early last night. Came back down because she was lying in the middle of the bed and grumbled when he tried to get in next to her.

Seriously if you met us you'd never think we were this soppy. I've been called a hard nosed bitch more than once, DP is ex army has bitchy resting face and according to one friend boyfriend, DP is 'not the type of bloke you piss off'. Said friend nearly wet herself laughing as she well knows how soft he is.

Did I mention he bought a motion camera so he could monitor if she's eating while we're at work…Hmm

Little bits of roast chicken went down well too. And a blanket nest with a hot water bottle tucked in.

A nice new box to investigate lined with one of your old jumpers that you know you will never throw away so, even when it is washed, there will still be a bit of her (hair) with you.

So lovely you have this time with her. Last year just before we pts our dog, we put a blanket on the floor and had every meal with her at her level. You're all in my thoughts x

We had the DNs round for dinner last night. She turned her nose up at roast chicken , had prawns instead. Plonked herself on the middle of the sofa so the boys sat on the floor…

And then climbed all over oldest DN to get to his dessert…

I'm starting to think she's playing us…

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. But lucky her to have such a loving owner.

A few other ideas for the list:

Fresh cream
Gentle brushing if she likes being groomed

Mine would probably like an assortment of live mice, but, more practically:
Heat pad ( my old girl loved hers)
Cheese
Butter
Ham
Tuna
Feathers

How lovely! My Harry develop a tumour in his stomach last May and we were told it was terminal. We were advised by the vet to take him home and spoil him until we could see he was unhappy. Tramadol was prescribed but he became so upset at us trying to force it down (not unusual) that we took the decision to just leave him alone and let him enjoy what time he had left. He passed peacefully in August but had a grand old few months - KFC, ice cream, catnip dreams, fish from the chip shop, bags of dreamies etc. Enjoy this time x

Our dcat is never happier than when he is eating a plate of vegetables!
Carrots, Peas, Broccoli and cauliflower!!

Oh this is sad. My boy loves a bit of roast beef and I warm his cat milk up for him in the microwave.
A nice bit of fish always goes down a storm too.
Being allowed to play in the garden.

Aww I'm in tears reading this! 😢 we lost our cat at 20, and our dog last year at 13.
Both of ours passed unexpectedly so it would have been nice to spoil them.
I would suggest

Plenty of cuddles
Massages (my current cat loves them)
Fresh salmon
Rib eye steak
While lamb shoulder with the bone.
Heated bed
One of those glove brushes
Cheese

Please give your kitty a big hug from me xx
