Hi, we are thinking of getting a kitten in the next few months. We already have a cat who is approximately 4yrs old (got her from rspca). She is friendly and affectionate with all of us, spends most of the day inside. How do we know if she would react badly to a new kitten? Is it just try it and see? I'd hate to upset her.

at first if you do get a new kitten expect her to hiss as she will be showing whos boss and she may even bat him or her one, the kitten will learn and so will she that she is the boss cat and usually this is enough to establish at least a truce i have three adult cats and foster kittens and mine are now at the stage where they just raise their eyebrows and look at me as if to say here we go againwhats she brought in this time, funnily enough my girl cat is the least kitten friendly so the kits learn quickly to not pester her and peace reigns very quickly

Thankyou. I guess we're only going to know if we try!
