8 mo kitten who we adopted a couple of weeks ago.

We've found a couple of poop wipes/smears fairly near to her litter tray. She only eats wet food (we are still trying to tempt her wth different dried but no luck so far)! ... what might be the reason? Or is this just normal cat stuff? Anything I can do to discourage her from doing it?

Her anal glands might be a bit blocked. They wipe to relieve it.

Does her anus look swollen at all?

Oh um.. I'll have to check when I get home! What causes that?

I don't know. One of ours had it for years on and off.

Anal glands or worms. When was she last wormed? If within the last three months then ask the vet to check her anal glands

Yes she was wormed a month ago. I've got the next tablet ready.

Will have a look tonight, -and take her to vets Friday (when they're next open).. any idea how much I expect to pay for vet visit? She's still on the months free pet insurance from rescue centre at the mo
