Just read her column in yesterday's Times magazine. It had even non emotional me crying into my coffee. The final sentence 'you weren't stupid, you were as clever as love' summed up cat ownership perfectly.

My Mum read parts of it to me when I called her yesterday - it had both of us in tears.

My friend pre warned me about it and shrugged my shoulders and said it's ok. Until I read it, I was in bits. Especially as I always tell anyone who asks about my cats how stupid they are just as she did.
