Poorly cat

I groomed my long hair cat last week (he doesn't need it often, he doesn't get knotty, I just do it every month or so to stop the shedding) and today and yesterday he has been being sick with a lot of fur in it. He seems ok in himself but he isn't eating much and the bit of tuna I gave him earlier has mostly come up. HUsband is away on business and I have two small toddlers so getting to the vet is going to be tricky, what should I look out for to say he needs to be seen? He is drinking a little water and eating tiny amounts. The sick is quite yellow but small quantity, couldn't tell you about his bowel movements, he goes out for that.

I'm glad you've got him home. Any more news on what the problem was or do they think it was a bug/infection?

They have run all the tests and x-rayed him and the only thing that came back was slightly raised white count so best guess is gastro. I have managed to drug him and he's eaten some biscuits but not the pate stuff with the rest of him drugs in. I stressed him out with the one tablet so will try again in the morning.

Back to the vet this morning, he is eating just enough to keep himself healthy. When we got back he ate a reasonable amount of tuna and I think some biscuits. So finally going in the right direction!
