Cat with chronic diarrhoea!

Hi, My cat who is nearly 8, suffers with chronic diarrhoea, the vet suggested to put her on a special diet, which the vet prescribes, but have been told the food is not good or healthy for cats, as it contains lots of cereals. She is constantly pooing in the house, with having children, it's both unhygienic and not pleasant to have to keep clearing up. I am going to suggest a stool sample to my vet, vet thinks it's just a food intolerance though, but I think it's important to rule anything out. Have tried so many different foods, has anyone had a cat similar to myn and tried a specific diet which has eliminated the diarrhoea.

Thank you for any replies!

Has the vet prescribed a food which is cereal-free?

Is she not using a litter tray?

Have you tried a dry complete food, something high quality like Applaws or James Wellbeloved.

They also do a wet food to, she'd only need one pouch a day with the dry.
