Can cats catch colds/flu from humans?

Just wondered really.

We have all had really bad colds/flu this week and this morning I heard my cat sneezing.

No they can't.

That's good to hear

With the flu and colds, have you all - quite understandably - perhaps been doing less hoovering than normal? If so, she might have a sensitivity to dust/house mites which could have caused a sneeze if there were more than usual.

Of course - it could be happenstance.
