My little cats missing

I'm hysterical I've just got in off a night shift I can't find her in the flat anywhere. She goes out into the hall way and never tries to get out of the mutual cat flap. My flat mate has gone to work I can only think she's ducked out whilst the door was open but would she really have gone out the flap as well? I'm on a main road. I don't think she's big enough to get back in through a window she can't jump that high. I'm back at work tonight.

Oh no. You are going to have to spend the whole day outside calling her I'm afraid. Is she spayed? (I ask as unspayed indoor cats will take any risks to get out).

Are you absolutely sure she's not curled up in a drawer?

How little is little?

Can you go outside and check around the building with some treats?

Also, check properly in the house. When I first got scaredy cat she would hide in some very odd and very, very small spaces. I once came home and she had wedged herself down the side of a chest of drawers. It was so tight she was unable to reverse so she was stuck there until I came home Blush

Check inside all drawers and cupboards.

Omg she was happily hid under a car she must've been there for two hours at least. She certainly knows how to get out of next doors catflap then. I just don't think she could get back in. She's behind the telly that's a first as well. 8 months I've aged twenty years.

That's great news. Ours went missing on New Years Day. Couldn't find her. She was out all night. Fireworks going off. I feared the worst. Soooo worried.
She was in a neighbour's garage!
These animals will turn me grey!

My indoor girl who never goes out the front door did this the other day. I didn't realise till I got home 6 hours later. Fortunately the neighbour had seen her 3 hours previously and she was still there. She was hiding between his wheelie.bins. She would have heard me calling for her but I think was to terrified to move. She ran into a bush when the neighbour moved his bin. So I grabbed her. Brambles and all. The hour between realising she was missing and finding her was one of the worst of my life. I still feel quite shaken up. My girl always responds to a treat pack being shaken and she wouldn't respond when she was outside at all.

Op, I posted on Facebook that she'd aged me by 20 years as well. Glad I wasn't over reacting!

Yes she mustv heard me calling and jangling the bell. Shes been asleep in bed with me all day. Shes not her usual playful self at all. Reckon four hours.

Mine was very affectionate and seems to trust me more now!

So relieved for you. It's so stressful when they do a disappearing act. My 19 year old deaf lad, mostly indoor cat, went missing on Tuesday, just for 2 mins and I was imagining all sorts of awful things, heart was pounding, tears were just about to fall when he walked up behind me - phew. I still haven't recovered 3 days later. I felt so guilty bout losing him that I bought him a new gingham bandana collar.

Toddlerteaplease · 06/01/2017 22:45

Glad it's not just me who felt absolutely terrible after loosing their overlord, even for just a short time. I thought I was over reacting!

I was so embarrassed walking home this morning incase anyone recognised me as the hysterical woman walking around shaking a bell yesterday morning. I'm not sure if I should lock her in for good or let her be free at least if I'm in. If she gets out by accident again I need for her to beable to get in the catflap so at least she can wait fir me in the warm hall way. How do I do that?
