New kitten

I know this is like asking how long is a piece of string but.... I collected our new and first rescue kitten from her foster cared today and brought her home. She has sat in her cat carrier since we came home about 5 hours ago. She is in the utility room with the door open into the kitchen so sure she is just getting used to noises and smells of our house. I have left food and water but she hasn't budged to eat or drink or use her litter tray. She has had a rotten start to life so sure she is terrified but what if she is still so scared tomorrow. Will she get dehydrated ?? Any advice would be great x

She'll come out tonight when it's quiet and you are safely in bed, don't worry. It takes some cats quite a while to adjust.

Thanks @weedsnseeds1 She has done a huge u-turn.As soon as my Dcs were home she came out, fed from their hands,are some of her dinner and allowed them to stroke and sing to her.She has now retired into her new bed for a bit of quiet time. What a little trooper! X
