Cats & Olive Wood

I'd heard that some cats find olive wood attractive, a bit like catnip, so gave mine a sniff of a wooden bread-bowl this evening.

One pretty much ignored it (she doesn't react much to catnip), but the other grabbed it, rubbed her face all over it, chewed it a bit & drooled till there was a pool of saliva in the bottom of it Hmm

She is now zonked out, purring, in a state of bliss, & I'm waiting for the munchies to strike she's already a greedy bugger Grin

If it's a bread bowl, maybe she likes the smell of bread, rather than olive wood?

Maybe, but she's not usually interested in bread - the bowl has a strong, aromatic "woody" smell, to my human nose.
