Liver disease in cats

Hi everyone, just wanted to vent.

We rehomed a cat from RSPCA a few months ago. We were told she was 2. Turns out she is about 13 Shock but anyway that doesn't matter we love her no matter how old she is!!! ... past couple of weeks I noticed her stomach getting very bloated. Turns out it's liver disease.

I feel like she has gone down hill since I took her to vets and got it diagnosed last week and I'm struggling to know what to do for the best.

She still eats. Still goes outside to the toilet. Enjoys being cuddled. But she also spends a lot of time hanging over the water bowl, sleeping, slightly wobbly on legs but can still jump on sofa etc. My main concern is that she looks so spaced out sometimes. I'm scared she is suffering and I just don't realise it :-(

Anyone else have experience of liver disease in their cat?

Yes. Do you exactly what is the liver problem? My cat had cholangitis/cholanghepatitis so only have experience of that. There is also fatty liver disease and no doubt others. She had other problems too but is still with us 18 months on aged 14.
There is also a thread running entitled "I think I might have killed my cat" and the OPs cat has liver problems.
