What's wrong with Whiskas?

I see Whiskas getting a bit of a slating on here. Is it like the feline equivalent of Maccy D's?
Ozzy's rather partial to the emergency chicken in gravy we got when we'd run out of the good stuff.
And while we're on the subject - I always give him kitten food. How is it different to adult cat food? He's the first cat I've had for 20 odd years and back then we just fed them Felix.

Just to throw something else into the conversation:

My cat was on the posh (vv expensive brand that you can only get in vets or online) dried food but it gave him crystals in his bladder (dangerous for male cats) due to the lack of water content even though he always had plenty of fresh water down. Vet advised some cats (particularly male) not suited to dried food for this reason.

Switched him to Felix with some dried food on top (for dental health). he was OK with this but often left most of the Felix.

Two years ago, changed to Whiskas in gravy (with dried food on top) and he is fantastic. His coat is out of this world, every vet comments on it being like satin. It's luxuriously soft and shiny.

So I am a firm fan of Whiskas!
