My 4.5 year black and white boy is acting really oddly recently - insatiable appetite and constantly asking for and eating food and yet is losing weight. He has lost a kilo since august and us a dinky cat at the beat of times so is looking really thin now. Weeing and pooping i can't monitor as he has his own key and comes and goes at will. Instead of being his usual aloof self he is very vocal and constantly trying to raid the kitchen bin and jump on the kitchen worktops looking for food - hes never neen like this. Ive taken him to the vet who has taken bloods so im waiting for the results- im very worried about him.

It sounds like a thyroid issue, in which case they can remove the thyroid and he will be fine.

YY sounds like thyroid. What's his coat condition like?

Mum's cat was like this and his coat went all greasy/spiky. Got him on the tablets and he was fine.
