Cats in your bed

Traditionally my cats have always slept ON the bed but latest cat gets IN the bed - snuggles under the duvet.

Is he weird or do your cats do this too?

That kitten is delicious!

My cat is just odd to be honest.

Mr C is really, really keen on The Pillow. The one impertinently occupied by my head. He wants to know what's so good about it, and why he hasn't got the best one. (he does, actually - 3 down pillows of his own that lie uncreased and untouched).

Sometimes he sleeps with his head in my hand to cope with pillow FOMO.

We used to have a cat that did this. Had to be really careful when you sat on the bed. She used to sleep under the duvet with her head on the pillow and paw out stretched. It was adorable! My two like to snuggle up really close and I curl up round them.

Trying to get mine to like the duvet on top of them. Folded it over onto snorg maiden and she stayed out for a few minutes in a nest which was progress.

BigFurry used to sleep beautifully on the other pillow of my double bed. When LittleFurry joined us, she tried sleeping under the covers with me once and I spent the whole night worrying that she would suffocate but not wanting to make her feel unwelcome. I had a new DP at the time, and when he became a more regular visitor we had to make some rearrangements. The cats were encouraged to sleep on the spare bed, which wasn't quite what they wanted. The end result was new cat beds in the kitchen and no cats in our bed. I still miss BigFurry at night. He used to stroke my face gently with his paw when he wanted his breakfast, and didn't snore or wriggle half as much as now-DH.

Two of mine do this ( I have 4). One lays her head on the pillow and body under the duvet ( she thinks she's human) and the other one goes right under and sleeps up against your legs.

My old cat used to sleep under duvet against my tummy. Knew it was cold when I woke up andvshe was still there. Her sister has her own pillow on DDs bed and alternates between pillow and inside the duvet cover. Because she is a schmuck. Not-so-Feral kitten alternates under the covers with on my head, feet & randomly waking me up by trying to lick my face. We are at an impasse on this: I think it's gross. She thinks I'm a cow for stopping her.

My cat loves to snuggle up in between me n my husband under the duvet. I'm very aware he's there, but husband isn't so I instinctively make sure to protect my fluffy little boy. Halo

Ahhhhh! When I had two cats (dear W Cat killed by vet's treatment for alleged diabetes at 7 yrs old - sob) they used to only snuggle on the bed when I had one of my 3 day migraines. They never left my side except to go to loo (when I also went to the loo) for the whole 3 days. One slept at the front of my legs, one at the back in the crook of my knees. Now and then they would chirrup at me as if to say are you ok? Now and then P Cat sleeps on my left side, in a human position (!) ie body long and stretched out, lying on his side facing away from me but snuggled close. True love!!!

I was woken up last night by Snorgmaiden's very loud snoring. And her sneezing on me. She's got a cold. Confused

As a teenager I stayed st a mates house, and her cat lay on my pillow with its feet on either side of my head, and it's stomach as a sort of hat. I ended up having to use my arm as a pillow to avoid the cat-hat, resulting in a dead arm in the morning!

hungryhangry I get that most nights now the weather has turned cold! Though I think really Mr T would prefer it if my head wasn't on the pillow at all, so he sometimes tries to push me off it with his back paws if he feels he doesn't have enough space Hmm

When Mr T was little he used to go under the duvet, but we had to knock that on the head as he used to get overexcited and attack or press his little wet nose on whichever bit of us was nearest...
