anybody fancy a challenge?

I need to find a rescue cat to fit this criteria for my grandparents in law. They live in the NE and would like a female cat aged 2+ (mil and I think older would be better though), indoor cat. Ideally something like the persian breed, they really need a nice calm girl who just wants a fuss.

I don't think being persian is a big nessecity but they would like her to be exotic with a calm nature.

Anyone want to help join in the search??

They might like to have a look at Catchat. Their 'Find a Shelter' page should be able to list all the nearby rescues - and many of those will even have their own websites which might show some of the cats looking for homes.

www.catchat.org is the place to look. I think you need to be more specific about the town/city for any of us to be able to help find something.

From there though I can see that Medomsley Moggies in Northumberland specialises in rescuing and rehoming Persians. They don't seem to have a website though - only an email.

Yes YES to CatChat! I got my gorgeous Leroy after seeing him on there... totally egged on by Cozie 😸.

St Franicis Persian rescue is the place to go. They have other breeds as well. I got my girls from there and they are brilliant. Based in a tiny village near Ripon.

They've got two lovely exotics called Amber and Jasmine. Who are gorgeous.

I've had a look at St Francis but they don't have any in the age range they want from what I can see. Shame as they look like lovely cats and I feel they'd be better with an older girl.
Will have a look at cat chat too.

We are in teesside but can travel around the area if anyone does happen to cross upon someone suitable.

It's always worth contacting the rescue even if they don't appear to have a cat who would suit. Many of the cats don't make it to the websites for a while - if at all - and rescue coordinators often know of cats needing homes who aren't even officially on the rescue's books.

There's a 9 year old girl at St Francis although not a persian?

She doesn't have to be persian, they are mostly wanting that breed because of how chilled and affectionate they can be. Any cat that has those qualities and is good looking (their request not mine!) would be good for them.

I feel 6+ would be best as they are not spring chickens themselves, but they are looking more towards 2 -3.

Yes. They are not great at keeping the website updated. So do get in contact. I know they have a waiting list to come in so if you tell them what you are looking for they will keep you in mind. I think Amber and Jasmine are about 5 now. Katie is 10z

Mine are so laid back they are almost horizontal!! The lady who runs St Francis told me I'd never have another breed of cat again. I didn't believe her at the time. But 15 moths on she was so right. They are just perfect, laid back, docile and affectionate. My friend has one and a Persian cross and they have been perfect first ever pets for him. ( he's 67!)

Yes the persians I've known are really laid back too. Your friends mum must have got a live wire!
