Dcat was hit by a car on Tuesday she has broken her pelvis in 2 places. They have let us take her home tonight but they are worried about neurological damage because she hasn't pooed yet. They have given us lactulose and metacalm. Please tell me she will be okay

Oh no, that's awful. How long will they give her till?

Weedsnseeds1 · 04/11/2016 21:30

I can't tell you that, but I wish her the very best and hope that quick intervention from the vet will tip the scales in her favour.

We have to take her back on Monday

Phew! What a relief.

I bet you've never been so glad to clean a tray out.

No it's wonderful, we cheered but quietly. The vet said she was hopefully being awkward because she is a tortoise shell. So it looks like a long way to go but no neurological damage.

update she has been in a cage in the lounge since then with fortnightly visits to the vets. She will be on room rest from Monday if they are happy with her. We are pleased and surprised that she has done so well.

What a relief for you. We had a cat who fractured his pelvis in a road accident - recovered, and lived to be a grand old man!

Thanks that's good to hear. I just hope she stays away from cars from now on
