Kitten food for sensitive tummy?

Our kitten is 5 months old and we've had him since 9 weeks old. Ever since we've had him, his poos have been really soft (he's constantly getting his tail in them ) and sometimes liquidy.

I went to the vet and was given Royal Canin gastro-intestinal food which definitely helped - but a few days after we've finished the box, his poos are going lighter and softer again

What can I do?! Have tried most supermarket brands and apart from Tesco dry kitten food, everything else seems to affect his little tummy

Any thoughts? Should I order a selection of better quality foods from Zooplus or similar and keep trying? He has regular worming and flea treatment.

You could get another box of the royal canin, but I would get it from zooplus or pets at home as it's much cheaper. Then introduce different food slowly.

I have a rescue who I've been told has similar problems, particularly when stressed. I've been feeding her thrive without any problems. They do kitten food. I put the royal canin gastrointestinal dry food out for her in case but she's been fine.

Two of my cats are brothers and both have sensitive stomachs. They very rarely vomit but used to get awful wind and diarrhea on some foods and it was unfortunately trial and error getting to the point where it is pretty much under control. One of the worst things that upset one of the boys was the treats Dreamies, they gave him IBS type symptoms and he was very bloated. Hill's Science Plan Adult Cat Sensitive Stomach is a god send if they do have a flare up but they are mainly on Royal Canin British Shorthair. Don't be tempted to change his food too often as it can also cause upset. Maybe keep him on the gastro food for a few months and see if he grows out of it?

Stick with the gastro. You can get gastro dry as well to use with it. Ours were like this. They also got on well with Royal Canin sensitive. Once they got to 18 months I added in a complementary food (Applaws chicken tins) and they were ok so I assume they have mostly grown out of the sensitivity. Having said that I've stuck with the gastro and sensitive as their poos are small and firm on it and their condition is lovely. I buy it from Fetch (next day delivery) and Animed Direct and it's much cheaper than the vets.

Almo Nature cat food is very good. A tad expensive, but the only thing our cat will eat. We get ours from Zooplus or Waitrose Pet. Mr Cat will only eat one flavour and we order in bulk.

He is very fussy and we tried absolutely everything. We have Royal Canin biscuits too (for his particular breed). Hoovers those!
