You haven't posted a photo. You don't deserve any food.

Konyaa · 25/10/2016 19:37

Forgot to add - HTH

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/10/2016 19:38

No I'm too jealous, my rescue cat doesn't like snuggles SadEnvy

kirinm · 25/10/2016 19:41

I think there should be a rule that you can only post in this section if you post a picture of your kitten / cat.

Marilynsbigsister · 25/10/2016 19:41

No photo no food. Simples !

Btw my gorgeous furry mind fuck has just returned after ANOTHER 72 hr absence.
All because I went away and didn't pack him too... so neeeeeedy.

Rescue me....
PosiePootlePerkins · 25/10/2016 20:00

72hours wow. Bet you were frantic. Pleased he's back safely.
Mine has just proudly brought in an enormous worm. Disgusting cat. I love her really

Potentialmadcatlady · 25/10/2016 22:09

I have two rescues who don't really cuddle...one is a complete no no to touching, one only if he's in mood on his terms so this one is great to have cuddles from...she literally lies on my face in bed if I let her....we have both eaten and are back in bed for the night....one other is at end bed and the other one is under the bed snoring....

Naughty me not giving photos...

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/10/2016 22:42

How do your rescues get on with the kitten? Sometimes I'm a little bit tempted to get a small snuggly thing...(DH would kill me though)

PosiePootlePerkins · 25/10/2016 22:43

PS gorgeous contented kitty!SmileSmileSmile

Toddlerteaplease · 26/10/2016 09:55

One of mine likes to sit on my face in bed. I'm sure she's plotting my death!

Potentialmadcatlady · 26/10/2016 20:29

Sorry only getting back to you now Posie...I deliberately choose new kitten because she is a Devon Rex who are well known to do best in multi animal houses and get on well with dogs and cats...they actively like company and never grow out of the kitten stage...and they are very very affectionate and cuddly...both my dog and my cats are rescues and they all have health issues so I really wanted a little 'happy' animal...I did feel guilty about not giving another rescue a home but we do a lot for rescue and wanted a little healthy cuddle monster to be our 'stable' cat as the other fosters/rescues come and go iuswim...
She gets on with them all whether they like it or not..she's bomb proof and just walked right in full of confidence...she did however 'give ground' to the oldest rescue right from the start so she knew her place..
Both the rescues were rescued from wild as very sick kittens so came to us semi feral but were young enough to be socialised...one of them totally loves having the new kitten around to play with ...the other one took a few days to accept her but after a few hisses etc has accepted her...she very much likes her own space so the other two tend to leave her alone which suits her well...
Having a 'cuddle' cat is totally lovely.....

Thanks for your reply. I totally get the need to have a snuggly cat! I love mine but she's very independent and not a lap cat (yet, I still have hopes!) The rescue centre advised she doesn't get on with other cats but I wondered if a kitten might be accepted some time in the future. Yours sounds completely loveable! Xx

RubbishMantra · 27/10/2016 15:27

Ahh, she looks like she's wearing curly, floofy slippers, or mittens!

I'm glad she's settled in so well. Mine's the same, not fazed by anything. Apart from the vacuum. He doesn't want to make friends with that.

RubbishMantra · 27/10/2016 15:40

Forgot to post a photo of my curly boy, snuggled up on his baby blanket. You can't see his beautiful blue eyes, because he's a-snoozin.

Rescue me....
PosiePootlePerkins · 27/10/2016 16:08

RubbishMantra is yours a Devon Rex too? They are soooo beautiful! I am rather taken with the idea!
Do they go outside? Can they be left for a few hours? I think I might need one in my lifeGrin

RubbishMantra · 27/10/2016 19:25

Yes, he too is a wee Devon, Posie. He's currently whinging at me, pretending he can't find the toy bird we were playing fetch with, (he knows EXACTLY where it is Grin).

You have another cat for company for when you're out, and they're very good at making friends. They just ignore any hissing/swiping and gambol off to do something else, unperturbed. Then attempt to make friends until the other cat gives in. MCat my neurotic boy-mog who is deeply mistrustful of anything that isn't me, pins him down for a thorough head wash several times a day. Little M (the Devon) loves it.

I let mine outside, even though they're supposedly indoor cats. I've only seen him leave the shared courtyard once, instead he prefers to wander into the adjoining houses and make friends. Even if he was to leave the courtyard, I live in an L shaped row of terraces, so no access to roads.

I also put a tracker (Loca8tor) on his collar, but only use the quick snap off ones. Makes finding lost collars easy!

Oh, and their fur feels like crushed velvet!

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/10/2016 20:34

Thank you for all of that information. Smile I may have been googling them this afternoon! I am definitely going to give it some thought. They seem to be loving loyal companions, which would be a lovely thing to have.

RubbishMantra · 27/10/2016 20:34

Toddler, Persians, Exotic S.H.'s and BSH have that look of "I'm planning world domination. I will enslave the humans, so they shall bring me chicken breasts and Dreamies on demand". Sort of the cat equivalent of bitchy resting face.

I love Persians, but don't think I could handle all the grooming, and trimming of the trousers! Lovely you fell in love with your 2 floofy princesses and are giving them a lovely life. I was Shock that the breeder continued to breed from a cat whose nostrils caused breathing difficulties. Thank goodness they found you. Less snoring now?

Potentialmadcatlady · 27/10/2016 22:03

Posie..I'm laughing at you googling...that's exactly what I did after I first heard about Devons...they are not typical cats...the noises they make are hysterical- eating,peeing,pooing,playing- sort of like a cheep/chirrup noise...very interested in everything you do/can I help Mum sort of cats...and VERY food orientated...they can learn tricks- mine is already learning how to give a high five...
Mantra is right ...mine is just the same..the other cats didn't really get given a choice whether they wanted to be friends...mine just ignores any hissing too and runs/leaps off for a while then comes back and has another go... She will sleep with any of them that allow her..not even the dog gets to sleep alone anymore....

PosiePootlePerkins · 27/10/2016 22:22

See now you've got me thinking that they would make the perfect pet! And sounds good about not being bothered by the other cats reaction. I think mine would hiss etc but she spends a lot of time either outside or generally being aloof, so she would probably keep herself to herself anyway. Could be a problem with the catflap if they're not supposed to go out...
You can tell I am giving this some thought!
My DS aged 12 looked at some of the images and went from 'they look weird' to 'aaah look at that one mum!' in about 30 seconds!Grin

hollinhurst84 · 27/10/2016 22:38

I am also trapped. He had his paws around my neck
