My cat is 11yo, was born in my house and has always been inappropriate in her toilet habits. She had a litter tray before she learnt to go in the harden, which she has no problem doing when she's out there.
However, if she is in the house she simply will not go outside to pee, and will seek the nearest bed - only ever the beds - to empty her bladder. She deliberately selects beds to piss on and then saunters away so I know she CAN hold it, she just won't. This has been an issue all her life but just seems to be getting worse.
She's not sick and there have been no stressful events. We have tried reintroducing the litter tray but she's not interested. I try to keep her downstairs but some idiot always leaves a door open and she seizes her opportunity to go upstairs, find a bed to piss on and come back down.
I can't keep up with all the washing of duvets and mattresses for her to just do it again a few days later!
What can I do? Rehoming and PTS are definitely not options. I love her to bits but I simply cannot stand this vicious circle any longer!
