Ouch! Cat sunk claw into my boob...!!

My nipple to be exact. It's really sore. It went in deep. I put some tea tree oil on it.

Cat got his first immunizations earlier and I was snuggling him. He went to get down and his claw went right in!

Is this dangerous? I'm new to cats!

It shouldn't be. There is something called cat scratch fever, though I've never known anyone that's had it.

I would just brece yourself for more witha kitten. The worse one I had was when Ernie managed to get his claw inside my nose...that was ouchy

I've found as they get older, they learn to keep their claws in around your skin, when 'launching off'. For instance, little M likes to jump on my bare back whilst sitting on the loo, so he can get to the sink, (which I dutifully switch on for him).

Lots of several sharp 'OUCHes' from me, and he's very careful to keep his claws in. They seem to gain more control over their claws as they grow up, and they realise the OUCH means they're hurting you. And they don't want to mistreat their slaves.

My mum and dad's cat loves to sit on their shoulders. Except he can't seem to balance himself and can only stay on if he's held on or he digs his needle like talons in to my dad's shoulder. we used to have another cat who we wore round our necks but she was self balancing!

My parents had a Siamese cat. Once my Dad wearing no top was opening a tin of food, William, who was a kitten, run up Dad's bare back, balanced on his shoulder and sniffed loudly. My Dad screeched "JESUS CHRIST". He never opened tins semi nude with the cat in the kitchen.

I've been looking at YouTube videos of how to clip their nails. They make it look easy but I bet it's not.

I got a pain in my shoulder and neck and my arm feels heavy on the side I got clawed. Pharmacist said to go for a tetanus. Went to the after hours GP. She gave me antibiotics and I'm getting a tetanus tomorrow.

Mine lets me clip her nails. It's easy enough to do but I just do 2-3 at a time over a couple of days. She just loses patience and runs off if I try to do them all at once and I don't want her to stress or she'll start to dislike having it done. I don't ever clip the ones on the back paws though, just the front ones. I'm at the antibiotics and tetanus jab, must have been a really nasty scratch. Ouch!

I take my girls to the vets to get theirs done as it's a two person job. They also behave beautifully at the vets so it's a doddle. Only costs £5 each. I was very unimpressed with shoulder climbing cats vet, when I found out he couldn't cut his claws. Turned out that the cat went for him and scratched him quite badly. (Then inspected his room and drank his tea)

When I had my cats as kittens I would say "let me check your teeth and paws" to get them used to having vet checks. They were good natured cats and never clawed me when I checked.

When Troy was diagnosed with HCM he had to have his lungs drained a couple of times as he was in heart failure. The vet didn't need to sedate him, he just sat there whilst they carried out the procedure. They said he was the best behaved cat they had. Even Bristol vet hospital said the same when he was going through vigorous tests. I miss him so much.
