clingy cat advice

Before I lose the will AngryGrin
I'm home and ill. Went for a lie down. Cat either bounces off my head or over grooms noisy in the doorway because he wants attention
If I shut him out he howls. Continuously and tunelessly. Have given up on the nap and he's trailing around after me shouting constantly
Not hungry, just wants to sit on me and I'm all touched out/sore
Help?

Fatty cat was making that exact same noise last night. I jumped out of bed and rushed to check she was ok. She was fine! Ollie just wants to look after you. It's adorable! He can come and live with me though(when you e had enough!)

MaddyHatter · 19/10/2016 10:06

i played your video and my boy got all worked up, lol

Both of mine talk to me like that, the boy more than the girl, she just trills at me most of the time.

I respond to that meow with a copycat meow, DH thinks i'm crazy.

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/10/2016 18:02

Ear plugs. I'm not even joking.

RubbishMantra · 19/10/2016 20:32

That Oh-oh-WOAHW! noise in your video is very similar to the noise MCat makes when he's patrolling the house yowling into corners.

He's also very needy/clingy. If it's not possible for him to be on my lap, he stretches out a proprietary paw, and grips me with it.

Does Ollie get into a trance-like state when on your lap, then suddenly bite for no reason? MCat likes being sung to, current favourite is Sing me to sleep by The Smiths.

hollinhurst84 · 19/10/2016 20:36

Nope, never ever ever bites. Or scratches!
He's all too much "I lub my hooman tra la must blink at her all day long"

Also I am a bad owner
He was obviously shouting because it's our one year owner anniversary and I forgot BlushGrin

cozietoesie · 19/10/2016 20:43

He's insecure.

Puffinity · 19/10/2016 22:08

PuffinCat is now v confused, surely the sound was coming from behind the curtain??? Grin I'd say Ollie is v cute, though I could understand if you wish he'd just STFU Smile.

cozietoesie · 19/10/2016 22:11

Ollie is a cutie-pie. Stablecat would be a challenge mind you. Grin

hollinhurst84 · 19/10/2016 22:13

I've just found Ollie outside in a face off with that thug black tom cat Blush
See stable cat would have given it the death stare, battered it, and still been home in one minute flat

cozietoesie · 19/10/2016 22:15

The Lodger would have brought out his hip flask and invited it to a game of stud poker! Grin

RubbishMantra · 19/10/2016 22:17

"He was obviously shouting because it's our one year owner anniversary and I forgot"

^^ That'll be it then. He's pissed off that you didn't come home with a dozen roses and a meal for 2 from M&S. Grin

First anniversaries are paper, so give him a scrunched up receipt to bat about and play fetch with.

hollinhurst84 · 19/10/2016 22:19

It's funny watching the puppy and stable cat. The puppy keeps trying and trying and eventually the cat gets annoyed, sits on the dog and wraps her claws into her belly. Dog is now wary Grin

He's sat on my lap kneading me now. I think he's happy I rescued him from the Tom

That's such a funny noise! Fluffy kitten jumped off my bed and hid under it when I played it.

So maybe your cat is saying stroke me or I will kill you human!

Shesgotelectricboobs · 19/10/2016 22:34

I'm wondering if our new rescue is part oriental. She is noisy!!

I also just played the video and she went a bit noisy.

cozietoesie · 19/10/2016 22:46

I'm remembering Oneago's brother who sired a litter at 5 months, to his breeder's apparent consternation. If - and that's a very big 'If' - Orientals etc come to maturity just that little earlier than the six months that so many people seem to have in their minds for neutering, get out and go on the razzle overnight?...........Who knows what's out there? Smile

hollinhurst84 · 19/10/2016 22:52

Good job Ollie is done then! Shock
Given he wasn't meant to be out tonight, I was using an e cig at the window and he leapt over me to launch outside

OP posts:
Supertrooperloopthelooper · 19/10/2016 22:55

He is gorgeous. Anyway, more importantly, have you listened to the video properly? He is clearly saying "Hello. How are you?"
He talks!
It's a miracle!HmmGrinGrinGrinGrin
Aahhh we need a cat emoticonStarStarStarStar

hollinhurst84 · 19/10/2016 23:01

Funnily I do get texts from neighbours saying "your cat is shouting hello again" Blush

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 19/10/2016 23:02

All cat conversations are about them, remember. Grin

RubbishMantra · 19/10/2016 23:24

They still get The Urge, even after neutering. Testosterone isn't just produced from les bolleux.

Little M was humping away at his shag-bag the day after he'd been de-bolleuxed. Confused

hollinhurst84 · 19/10/2016 23:33

He's chirruping at me now. I am flavour of the day again
