Cat has gone missing :(

Help :(

I have two adult cats, a neutered and girl - they're Bengal crosses, so quite big and pretty. We let them out yesterday for the first time - and one of them has just gone. They had a day going in and out, pottering in the garden; then they went out at 10pm and one (the boy) has not con back.

I am so worried. We've done all the usual, wandering around calling and shaking a treat box (he's ruled by dreamies usually), but no sign of him. We've spread litter in the garden but it's such a wet night and last night was torrential so I'm worried he's totally lost.

The girl is really keen to go out. Should we keep her in (I don't want both to vanish....) or let her out so she can maybe help with the scent he can follow?

Thanks :(
A

Lovely news Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/12/2016 18:57

Oh well done you must be so pleased. When do you get him?

TroysMammy · 05/12/2016 18:59

That's lovely news, drive safely.

Wolfiefan · 05/12/2016 19:01

Oh wow. Amazing news. Perhaps keep him in one secure room to start. Switch bedding between him and her.
I would keep him in a few weeks. Never let out at night. I'm neurotic and would probably be looking into a run or cat proofing the garden!Blush

Cats have good memories, one of our girls remembered her mum after a year apart.

KwazyKupcakes · 05/12/2016 19:06

I sort of think that if he doesn't want to be here and has found a new home he prefers, then as long as he is healthy and happy that's ok. But I have missed him so much as has DH (he was very much 'DH's cat'). I would be very sad indeed if he ran away again - but I want him to be happy.

Thanks for the advice on re-introducing them - and I definitely would like to keep him in for a few days! He will hate it so much but can't have him even more confused than he already is.

On my way to get him now......train feels like it's going very slowly!

Very pleased to hear this!

KwazyKupcakes · 05/12/2016 19:07

They are brother and sister so I hope it will make recognition easier - fluffy, that's reassuring!

And now just need to work out how to get him into a cat carrier that he HATES....

Omg that's brill!

Weedsnseeds1 · 05/12/2016 19:17

Keep him in for more than a few days! Treat him as a "new" arrival, a few weeks at least or he'll probably be off again!

Papergirl1968 · 05/12/2016 19:40

Great news! How far from home was he?

MollyHuaCha · 05/12/2016 20:01

So happy for you 😻

KwazyKupcakes · 05/12/2016 21:12

About half a mile away - he's quite dusty and starving, so think he may have been living rough. For SIX WEEKS. Poor boy. He's very needy.

His sister is quite unhappy about the whole thing...much hissing until we put them in separate rooms...

Give him plenty of TLC.
What a relief to get him back.
How did they know he was yours?

KwazyKupcakes · 05/12/2016 22:08

paper he had kept his collar on all this time - has my number on it :)

Wow! That was lucky.
There have been some lovely threads on the Litter Tray the last couple of weeks. A couple of lost cats turning up, as well as Bella the five week old stray kitten, and the person who was terrified of cats but took in a pregnant stray. Makes me feel all fuzzy inside Smile
