My cat is limping

Do I need to panic? She's 18 months and has just come in limping on her front paw. It doesn't seems swollen she will let me feel it but she's limpimgnwhen she walks.

Sprain? Break? Do I need to call the vet or wait ?

Keep her in tonight and see how she is in the morning I'd say. Is she bright enough? Eating etc?

Yeah she's fine in other ways - able to jump to sofa etc just not using that front leg.

Likely just fell awkwardly.

Cats def let you know if they are in pain.

Limping is a sign of pain! Vets either tonight or first thing tomorrow.

There will be a vet available. There will be a number on their answerphone message. Personally if she is non weight bearing i would take her for pain relief (it's what you would want if you couldn't touch your leg to the floor) as there's nothing that's safe for you to give at home. Lots of people would wait until the morning though. Unless she's made a complete recovery it isn't fair to wait longer.

One of my boys came home with a limp. I couldn't see anything but but It turned out to be several cat bites, one on his shoulder and one just above his knee joint. They had become infected and the infection got into the knee joint. Took 3 vet visits and almost a month before he was fully recovered. It also cost us £695 in vet bills - luckily he's insured ). I would definitely take him to the vet tomorrow to get him checked over just to be on the safe side.

Vet thinks just a sprain. She's putting it down this morning. And she let him poke all round it with only mews.

He's given her painkillers and told me to keep her in. And bring her back if it's still sore in a few days.
