Clumping litter

Hello all,

Which is the best clumping litter you would recommend? I'm swaying towards Catsan clumping but I think that's maybe only because it's a brand I recognise. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Many thanks

Worlds Best Cat Litter - made of corn (I think), clumps and flushes. Brilliant stuff.

Lanaorana1 · 09/10/2016 12:03

Couch that sounds cracking. I am a Catsan fan. Just tried Waitrose extra-expensive, rubbish. Mr C doesn't mind but I do, it pongs.

SillyMoomin · 09/10/2016 12:15

You can flush litter couch???

Another one here who uses Oko worlds best litter. I order online, get a huge sack and it lasts for months.

You don't need to empty the entire tray as it just needs topping up every now and again.

Life-changer.

hollinhurst84 · 09/10/2016 12:42

Yes you can! Both I listed are flushable too :)

SillyMoomin · 09/10/2016 12:52

HOW did I never know you could flush litter????!

Intersand classic. No smell and only needs changing once a month. (Two poo machines using same tray)

Cliffdiver · 09/10/2016 14:00

We used to use this one, found it excellent.

Don't flush clay litter though, Moomin. That'll have your pipes blocked in no time.

Another one voting for Worlds Best, (flushable and compostable)

RubbishMantra · 09/10/2016 16:30

Sainsburys Ultra Clumping is good as well. Nice talcum powder smell. Not flushable though.

SillyMoomin · 09/10/2016 17:31

Ooooh noted, thanks rubbish

Can just see DH's face if we had to get a plumber out! Grin

When you say flushable, I take it you only flush the poo/wee bits away? You don't tip the remaining litter down the loo when you are doing a weekly changeover? 😳

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 10/10/2016 07:15

Yes, just scoop the clumps straight into the loo and flush.

BorpBorpBorp · 10/10/2016 09:25

I use Tesco clumping litter (£3.75 for 10L). When we had 2 cats we went through 1 bag a week, but it turns out that was mostly the late BorpCat2, and BorpCat1 prefers to do her business outdoors.

It's unscented, it smells slightly clay-y, it absorbs odours well, it's easy to scoop, but you can't flush it.

SillyMoomin · 10/10/2016 09:27

Thank you to everyone, you've all given me lots to google and have learnt a new thing or two too!

Hurrar for not just buying the first brand I knew!

I've googled the oko litter but there's a few, please can someone link to the clumping flushable one please?

RubbishMantra · 12/10/2016 03:29

Haven't used the Oko one, but here's a link to Worlds Best - flushable, compostable, (corn based).

OKO Nature Gold, it is like the regular OKO Cats Best with regard to clumping but it is pellets and doesn't track as much. The little pellets are easy to sweep up whereas Cats Best tends to spread itself around more on the floor (and gets everywhere in this house).

Available in various sizes.

Thanks everyone went for the worlds best in the end and as far as it is weird to be in love with a cat litter, it's bloomin' marvellous!!

Clumps beautifully, haven't noticed any odours (though to be fair am sifting for clumps twice a day) and I can flush it!!

(Happy dance)

Thanks everyone (and a thanks from MoominCat)
