Mo, my gorgeous, active 3 year old ginger tabby, vomited once yesterday afternoon. Last night he curled up in a corner of the bedroom behind a chair and hasn't moved from that spot since, except to stand, stretch and immediately lie down and sleep again. I've been up most of the night checking on him.
I've never known him like this before. Should I be heading to the vet as soon as they open (I'm several hours behind the UK)?
Strangely, he purrs when stroked, but doesn't really wake - and by this time in the early morning he's usually racing around and keen to go out.
His only other brush with illness was a year ago, when he weed on the kitchen floor and had a small trace of blood in his urine. I rushed him to the emergency vet on a Sunday morning (in the UK in those days) but was reassured that he had no blockage and the vet didn't even think he had a UTI. He's been on a special diet as a precaution ever since (vet recommended anti-struvite forming dry food and wet, although he's not keen on the wet) which we have to bring in from the UK as we're in a developing country with few facilities, so can't really change except for lower quality food available locally.
I'd be so grateful for advice. Should I take him to the vet (some way away) or monitor him for now? I'm really concerned - but also confused by the purring. Thank you
