Leaving 14 week old kitten for the weekend.

I feel sick at the thought but I was always going to have to go to this wedding. My lodger away for a 50th weekend as well. My girl is so placid and friendly we both dote on her. She's used to us working 12 hour shifts but she's also used to us having 3-4 days off a week. I live in a flat and share the landing with my neighbour who has two bruisers. She's an early riser and seems to love hers. At some point mine will have to be introduced if she's going to go outside but not yet. She's had two lots of vaccinations. My flat is like toys r us and she loves radio 4. I'm leaving Friday lunch time. The neighbour is happy to come in Friday night and twice Saturday and on Subday my cleaner will come for three hours. They love each other so I'm sure the kitten will be exhausted by the end of that session. Neighbour will go in Sunday night Monday morning and I'll be back Monday evening. How does this all sound? Will she be ok? I feel terrible about it all what should I do to help her along?

She will be fine. The first time I left my kitten (now a 5 year old bruiser) I cried as we drove away. The cat sitter came in twice a day, and sent photos. She was good as gold.

She already has met the people who are looking after her, so thats great. I volunteer at a shelter where kittens are visited by a different person each visit, and they are very happy with the attention. They also spend a lot of time sleeping.

Sounds like you are doing everything perfectly. Try to enjoy your weekend away (even though I know you will be thinking of her the whole time!)

Is it safe to leave the radio on? She's not allowed on the front room when we are out but has started sleeping on my bed in the day so should I put some new toys in my bedroom? I have a cub and tunnel. She hates treats and dried food unfortunately. I think she eats it when I'm not looking though either that or I've got a bad case of mice!

You could buy her a new toy, but perhaps just take one of her old toys and pop it in your bedroom?
Its great that shes sleeping on your bed. It will smell of you and be comforting to her.
