Should we get another?

We (me and son aged 6) have one cat. She is such a good cat, she sits on ds shoulders when he's having a meltdown and will sleep with him if he tosses and turns. She likes to be picked up like a baby and snuggled and will play games with ds (will push a toy car back to him, play fetch etc) I would like another one but I really don't want to cause any issues as she is such a great cat!
How would it be best to introduce her to a new cat and not cause her behaviour to change? Or is it really not worth rocking the boat?

Honestly, I wouldn't rock the boat. Sounds like your cat has a brilliant relationship with the people in the house and isn't missing out by not having cat company.

If you read my current thread about my new cat picking on the existing one it might give you pause for thought.

I had this situation with dogs, got another and it completely ruined the balance of the house. My dog was unhappy, the new puppy wasn't getting the love of attention it needed. It was an awful experience, I only did it because my dog couldn't be any better and I loved him so much so wanted another, now I appreciate what I have!
