Not pregnant cat has morning sickness!

My 6 year old spayed indoor cat has started to be sick every morning. Her dry food is down all the time and she grazes throughout the day so it's not just after she has eaten necessarily. She is eating the same food she always has and seems fine in herself otherwise. Any ideas as I could really do without an unnecessary vet visit but obviously will take her if necessary.

Have you bought any new house-plants? There's extensive lists toxic to cats if you google.

Is she strictly indoor, ie. no run where pesticides could drift in?

Perhaps the manufacturer of her food has changed the ingredients?

Or I don't know if cats can get the equivalent of a hiatus hernia?

Is it after she's been asleep for a while and not eating?

No plants at all in the house and I have Googled but can't see any info about changes to the ingredients used in her food. We have been using slug pellets outside but as she is strictly indoor only I don't think it can be that. Yes cozie she sleeps downstairs with our other cat overnight and when I go down at 6ish she is still asleep, she wakes up has a wander about upstairs to check everyone is still here then comes down and throws up. Not everyday but I would say at least 4 out of 7 days.

Came on here to post the same question OP! Hopefully cozie will have some ideas. My girl has always been the sensitive one of the two I've got, but I've been googling stress -induced vomitting in cats because I think it could be a factor.

It's awful when they can't just say what's going on, isn't it?

Oh dear duff poor cats. Is stress vomiting a thing? DH was saying it was maybe our other cat stressing her out but they have been together 8 months so would be odd to just start now I think.

75% of cats have low grade pancreatitis causing vomiting. I am pretty laid back about vomiting cats, but every day is my investigation level.

Yes I think it might be a thing, in which case I'd have my answer - son, his wife and their baby have moved in temporarily and duffcats are used to being the lord and lady of this house!! duffboy is meowing constantly and being a bit of a bully and poor duffgirl is throwing up .

I think stress is stress though and can happen at any time, so maybe your DH has something there?

There may well be some stress but I think I'd be wanting to rule out more obvious causes first. How long has she been doing this? I think that a vet visit may be indicated.

On and off for a few weeks. It was everyday for about 5 days then when I was about to call the vets she stopped for 3 days now it's off and on but about 4 times a week.

That would be too much for me. The odd upchuck sort of goes with the territory but that's too frequent for my liking. I'd have a word with the vet - and ask them if they need samples or a quick video if you can manage that. (They might not.)

Unfortunately that's what I was thinking. I'll give them a ring.
